A Message from the CEO
PATH NORTH DAKOTA PATH IDAHO
I am extremely pleased to again have the honor of writing this letter
acknowledging the remarkable support from our community partners,
PATH staff and foster parents. Throughout Fiscal Year 2017, PATH has
continued to maintain the highest State, National and International
standards in the areas of Treatment Foster Care and Family Services.
During this year, we served 1,290 youth and their families in North
Dakota, and 90 youth in Idaho for a total of 1,379 youth and families
served. In addition, in our collaborative with North Dakota Catholic
Charities, we finalized 158 adoptions and have an additional 149 adoptions
pending in our service to special needs children and finding families for these children
In spite of the large number of children served and challenging dilemmas these children
face 73% of the children in North Dakota have returned to a permanent family situation.
PATH currently has 673 individual foster parents, all dedicated to serving the youth in
their care. These amazing people go through significant training and challenges as they
commit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to their work with the youth and adolescents we
The last year has been dedicated to a great deal of change. We have continued to work
in transitioning our organization into the Nexus family of services. This has created
significant support as well as significant challenge as we integrate increasing levels of our
service and geography.
PATH, PATH staff, PATH foster parents, and Nexus have worked diligently to carry out our
commitment to the children and families we serve. It is again with great admiration and
humility that I write this letter to accompany our annual report.
