A Place to Call Home
PATH creates permanency for youth in care in a variety of ways. Our hope is that the
children in our care return to their biological family’s home. We work side by side with
county social services, therapists, foster parents, and other service providers to assist in
preparing youth and their families for reunification.
When reunification is not an option, adoption services are provided through the Adults
Adopting Special Kids (AASK) Program. AASK is a collaborative program between PATH
and Catholic Charities North Dakota providing adoption services for youth in the foster
care system in North Dakota. Once these adoptions finalize, we make sure families continue
to receive support through a service of the AASK Program, the North Dakota Post
Not all youth return home or have an adoption goal. In these cases, we provide youth
with the option of an 18+ program, allowing them to continue to receive support from
foster parents until they are 21 years old. Our Chafee Foster Care Independence Program
ensures that youth ages 14 and older receive support and skills enabling them to successfully
transition to living independently.
